A Mother's Prayer Led Me There  / Michele LeBeaumont (fellow human being, future angel neighbor )
I'm sitting here all alone on a brisk January afternoon in Florida. My kids are with their dad, an hour away, where the three of them live. My oldest, age 18 is living out in Oregon, many more hours away! And my fiance is in Las Vegas on business (really, it's BUSINESS! LOL!) I'm sitting here watching ice skating and the beautiful Eketerina Gordeeva (of 1988 Gold Medal fame at the tender age of 16) was skating to a beautiful tune, "A Mother's Prayer" (Celine Dion) and I had heard the Charlotte Church/Josh Grobin version many times but never understood, or couldn't understand the Italian version...whatever the case, the words hit me today and while she was skating, I kept thinking of my oldest who is in Oregon, stretching her wings, flapping maddly on her own (and happily so :( and my other angel, Elizabeth who I don't see enough of and who misses not living with me. She's not lived with me since she was 10 :( I thought of my own family who I lost many, many years ago,..my dad, grandmother and mom. When I pray, I pray to them. I ask each morning that they watch over my own three kids and my fiance, as well as myself. The tears poured down. My throat tightened. Then I thought, I must get these lyrics. I want to put them in a scrapbook. I want to send them to my beautiful, Carrie-Ann to let her know although she's far away, she's always in my heart and on my mind and that I wish for her happiness and pray for her safety. A line in the song says "help her find a place, show her with your grace..." I want her to be happy and healthy above all. Even if it means she isn't close in miles. I wish the same for my other two children. I haven't found the lyrics yet...I will. Instead, I was directed to this precious site. I once heard it said that there is no such thing as a coincidence, coincidences are God's way of remaining anonymous. With that said,...I was MEANT to read this tribute to your Emily Rose. And on October 6th I begin bleeding. It lead to the miscarriage of our own Emily Ann. Oh I will never really know if it was a girl or boy. It was only 2 months but in my heart, it was Emily. I believe that Emily is here telling me she loves me and thanking me for loving her into being. It wasn't her time. And to the other babies of mine that never made it.... they are still around in spirit, being held in the arms of my own family. I love you Emily Ann and to you Emily Rose,...thank you for honoring us with your presence on this earth, if only for a moment. There is no distance in prayer and love. And no coincidences. Thank you Emily's mommy for creating such a tender and loving memorial site. It humbles me and touches my heart and reminds me not to take my life, the life of my daughters and son and life itself for granted. Namaste Michele Close

Dear Emily's Family, I found myself sitting here - on the eve of New Year's Eve - feeling a bit sorry for myself because of a some odd and somewhat painful twists in the road of life that I've encountered over the last few years. What a selfish mindset! Although I do not live with her on a daily basis any longer, I spent yesterday with my happy, healthy and lovely daughter, Catherine Ann. We followed-up belatedly celebrating Christmas by making a gingerbread house while discussing her final decisions about which colleges she is applying to, her relationship with her boyfriend and her upcoming 18th birthday. I, literally, just called Catherine and simply said, "Your Dadda (her name for me since infancy) loves you so very much!" She said that she knew that and asked me what was wrong. I assured her that - I didn't have a care in the world because I realize that I'm such a blessed man! May God the Father, who holds your precious Emily in His hands send His Holy Spirit to comfort and console you and give you the strength to persevere. I'm so happy that you believe that you'll truly be with her - as a united family - when He brings you all together. With all sincerity and love, Leo Close

Please accept a hug from one broken heart to another. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. I Wish there were words I could say or something I could do to take away this pain and heartbreak. I lost my son  Aidan on June 19, 2004. We have Guardian Angels Watching Over us.

What Makes a Mother I thought of you all, I closed my eyes and prayed to God today. I asked what makes a Mother and I know I heard Him say, A Mother has a baby. This we know is true. But God can you be a Mother when your baby's not with you?"Yes you can!", He replied with confidence in His voice, "I give many women babies, when they leave is not their choice."Some I send for a lifetime and other's for a day. And some I send to feel your womb but there's no need to stay. I just don't understand this God, I want my baby here. He took a breath and cleared His throat and then I saw a tear. I wish I could show you what your child is doing today. If you could see your child smile with other children and say,"We go to earth to learn our lessons of love and life and fear. My Mommy loved me oh so much I got to come straight here. I feel so lucky to have a Mom who had so much love for me I learned my lesson very quick My Mommy set me free. I miss my Mommy oh so much but I visit her each day. When she goes to sleep on her pillow's where I lay. I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek and whisper in her ear, Mommy don't be sad today I'm your baby and I'm here."So you see my dear sweet one, your children are OK. Your babies are here in my home and this is where they'll stay. They'll wait for you with me until your lesson is through. And on that day that you come home they'll be at the gates for you. So now you see what makes a Mother. It's the feeling in your heart. It's the love you had so much of right from the very start.
